چکیده

Background and Aim: Oxidative stress, caused by environmental insults, may interfere with redox signaling during pregnancy is a known contributor to preterm birth. In vivo in vitro studies indicate that PFAS generate reactive oxygen species, but this has been minimally investigated humans not examined pregnancy. We the effects of prenatal exposure on oxidative stress biomarkers, hypothesizing would be positively associated stress. Methods: Our analytic sample included participants enrolled Illinois Kids Development Study Chemicals Bodies prospective cohorts between 2014 2019 (N=428). Seven were quantified 2nd trimester serum. Urine levels 8-isoprostane-prostaglandin-F2α, PGF2α, 2,3-dinor-8-iso-PGF2α, 2,3-dinor-5,6-dihydro-8-iso-PGF2α measured 3rd trimesters as biomarkers fit linear mixed-effects models estimate associations single one or two measurements biomarkers. used quantile g-computation Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) assess mixture multiple All adjusted for cohort, maternal age, parity, education, pre-pregnancy body mass index. Results: Linear showed an interquartile range increase perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS) was 4.08% 8-iso-PGF2α (95% confidence interval [CI]= -3.20, 11.91). Using g-computation, one-quartile all concentrations modest (β=0.09, 95% CI= -0.07, 0.25). both BKMR, across PFOS contributed most overall effect. Conclusions: study first investigate Findings consistent methods indicated elevated among pregnant people.

Some acute phase proteins, oxidative stress biomarkers and antioxidant enzyme activities in ewes with pregnancy toxemia

The aim of this study is to investigate antioxidant enzymes, oxidative stress biomarkers and the acute phase proteins levels for subclinical and clinical pregnancy toxemia and to determine the effect of early diagnosis on the success of curing. According to the results of clinical and biochemical parameters, from 39 ewes, 10 were healthy ewes (control group), 13 ewes had subclinical pregnancy t...

Urinary Phthalate Metabolite Associations with Biomarkers of Inflammation and Oxidative Stress Across Pregnancy in Puerto Rico

Phthalate exposure during pregnancy has been linked to adverse birth outcomes such as preterm birth, and inflammation and oxidative stress may mediate these relationships. In a prospective cohort study of pregnant women recruited early in gestation in Northern Puerto Rico, we investigated the associations between urinary phthalate metabolites and biomarkers of inflammation, including C-reactive...

Maternal serum concentrations of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances and their predictors in years with reduced production and use.

Determining maternal concentrations of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) and the relative impact of various demographic and dietary predictors is important for assessing fetal exposure and for developing proper lifestyle advisories for pregnant women. This study was conducted to investigate maternal PFAS concentrations and their predictors in years when the production and use of sever...
